Baby Routine
Time Activity Details
7.45 – 9am Welcome and Breakfast A time to share information. Children move on to activities once they have finished their breakfast.
9am – 9.15 Circle time Singing and stories. Babies are free to join in with singing morning welcome song and have a story
9.15 – 9.45 Free Play The room is set up according to the continuous provision plan and children are free to explore the resources, home corner, construction, water, sand and malleable materials. Playing with the group supports them to develop social skills. Adults support the babies in their exploration and interactions.
9.45 – 10am Snack Wash hands and sit at table for snack.
10am – 10.15 Music time Staff to lead babies in music session, using instruments
10.15 – 11am Garden The Babies will be escorted to the garden in travel cots where they can explore continuous provision.
11am – 11.15 Tidy up and Wash hands Staff support babies washing their hands
11.15 – 11.45 Lunch We support each baby to eat according to their parent’s wishes, self feeding or spoon feeding.
12pm – 2pm Sleep Babies to take a nap in a quiet environment.
12pm – 2pm Quiet time and  garden Babies who are not sleeping will engage in garden time or quiet activities
2pm – 2.30 Free play The room is set up according to the continuous provision plan and children are free to explore a different set of resources. Playing with the group supports them to develop social skills. Adults support the babies in their exploration and interactions.
2.30 – 2.45 Snack Wash hands and sit at table for snack.
2.45 – 3.30 Garden The Babies will be escorted to the garden in travel cots where they can explore continuous provision.
3.30 – 3.45 Wash hands and singing Adults support babies to wash hands and then sit with them, singing a variety of songs. 
3.45 – 4.15 Tea Time Freshly cooked light meal.
4.15 – 5pm Adult led/Free Flow activity A selection of adult led activities and free play available.
5pm – 5.30 Sensory play For babies to stimulate their senses through touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. 
5.30 – 5.45 Tidy up Adults to support tidy up and get ready for story time.
5.45 – 6pm Story time and home time Babies to explore a variety to stories.

11 am -11.15 Music  Staff to lead Children in music session, using instruments
11.15-11.30 Tidy up Adults to support tidy up and get ready for circle time.
11.30/11.45 Circle time/ Wash Hands Singing and stories. Children are free to join in with singing songs, have a story and discussions. Wash hands for lunch.
11.45- 12.15 Lunch We support children to eat when necessary
12.15-12.45 Activity tray or sleep A selection of activities. Prepare for sleep.
12.45/2pm Sleep or garden time / Quiet time Children who are not sleeping will engage in garden time or quiet activities
2pm-2.30 Adult led A selection of adult led activities and free play available.
2.30 /3.30  Garden The Children will be escorted to the garden, where they can explore continuous provision.
3.30/3.45 Wash hand and Circle time Children are supported to wash hands and join in with circle time.
3.45/4.15  Tea Time Freshly cooked light meal.
4.15/5pm Adult led activity A selection of adult led activities and free play available
5/5.30 Table top activities/ Free Play The room is set up according to the continuous provision plan and children are free to explore the resources, home corner, construction, water, sand and malleable materials. Playing with the group supports them to develop social skills. Adults support the Children in their exploration and interactions
5.30/5.45 Tidy up Adults encourage tidy up time.
5.45/6pm Story time and home time To explore stories and prepare for home time.
